Mindful New Years Eve Rituals
I don’t know about anyone else, but I have always found New Year's Eve a little bit anticlimactic. In recent years I am far less interested in New Years Eve being a night for partying and much more into the rituals that have become traditions for myself and my husband to do together once the kids have gone to sleep.
I thought I would share some of our favourites with you, in case you are like me, which if you read this blog, is likely, and you might enjoy giving them a try too.
Declutter and Cleanse Your Home
You could try burning Sage or Paulo Santo for this or if you don’t like using smoke I also like using a sage spray or angel spray. If you don’t have any of these, you can do a clearing visualisation, imagining white light clearing through your home and also just tidying, decluttering and cleaning can feel cleansing.
Cleanse Your Energy
Everyone does this differently and it’s about finding what works for you, reiki is wonderful, you could try a cleansing shower imagining the water clearing away all that no longer serves you. If you used sage to clear your home you could also use that around your body to clear your energy field.
Write a Let It Go List
Write down everything that happened over the last 12 months that you would like to let go of. This could be events, situations, conversations… anything that has made you feel icky and is time to release in order for you to move forward in a more positive way. Once your list is complete burn it (safely) and as you do take a deep breath and image these things being released as the fire burns.
Write a Gratitude List
Write down everything you are grateful for in the last 12 months. I usually find this list is much longer than I expect it to be and gives me all the feels.
Write a Manifest List
Make a list of everything you would like to manifest into your life in the next 12 months and write it in a positive, thankful way as if you already have it.
Make a Vision Board
Make a vision board of how you would like 2023 to look. This is also a fun one for kids to try. Chop out magazines and images you like and get creative co-creating your future.
Use Angel, Oracle or Affirmation Cards
As you shuffle the deck of your choosing, ask for the card or cards that are for your highest good as you move into a New Year.
Do a Meditation to re-calibrate and centre yourself.
In my New Years meditation I usually like to run through my gratitude list in my mind and visualise the New Year and all its blessings entering my energy but try not to get hung up on getting it right. Meditation is a deeply personal journal and there is no right or wrong, only what feels right for you.
Hope you find these helpful and or interesting, if you give any of them a try, please reach out and tell us how you got on. Have a beautiful New Year and we will see you in 2023.
